Lush Japan introduces "booost Sustainability"

We have begun a business partnership as a GX promotion partner for a global company committed to environmental management.

Booost Inc. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hironori Aoi; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has begun providing "booost Sustainability (booost GX)," the No. 1*1 GHG emissions visualization solution in terms of sales share, to LUSH Japan LLC (Aiko-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Executive Officer and President: Rowena Jacqueline Byrd; hereinafter referred to as "LUSH Japan"), which operates the UK-based natural cosmetics brand LUSH.

Our company has begun a business partnership with Lush Japan as a solutions partner to visualize their efforts toward the global environment and climate crisis, and will contribute to accelerating the promotion of GX (Global Energy).

■ Lush Japan's initiatives and the background of the business partnership

Lush Japan views itself as part of the natural world and conducts its business activities based on the principle of giving back more than the amount of energy it uses, in terms of the raw materials it uses, the manufacturing and transportation methods of its products, and the energy it uses. Accordingly, it is working on actions around the world as part of its TO DO list*2, such as "100% renewable energy everywhere," "drastically reducing carbon emissions during transportation," and "standing up for climate justice."

We are pleased to announce that by implementing our "booost Sustainability (booost GX)" and entering into a business partnership, we have been selected as a partner because they appreciated the reduction in communication costs and data entry workload, including the management of emissions from stores nationwide under Scope 2 and the management of a vast number of records for Scope 3, using our automated sorting function and AI-OCR.

■ What can be achieved through implementation

  1. Lush Japan centrally manages its 77 stores nationwide and three locations including offices and manufacturing facilities, efficiently performing one-stop operations for visualizing, managing, offsetting (energy saving, energy creation, etc.), and reporting CO2 emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3).
  2. Lush Japan significantly reduced the effort required to visualize and aggregate CO2 emissions across its 77 stores nationwide, 3 offices/manufacturing facilities, and its suppliers.
  3. Support for RE100, SBTi, etc.

■Future developments

Going forward, we will continue to invest in the development and evolution of solutions as a partner to sustainability leaders that are actively promoting ESG initiatives, including GX, and are responsible for advancing Japan's GX strategy.
