By utilizing "booost Sustainability," the company will be able to efficiently manage GHG emissions and overall environmental data generated from business activities at approximately 300 locations, including domestic and international subsidiaries, group companies, warehouses, port facilities, etc., thereby supporting its Sustainability initiatives.

■ Background of Implementation

The Nissin Group, through its logistics business, has designated "Promoting ESG Management" as a key initiative in its medium-term management plan in order to contribute to the sustainable development of society on a global scale, and is promoting various ESG-related initiatives and data disclosure. To date, we have been working on Scope 1 and 2 calculations using our own system, Scope 3 calculations using Excel, and environmental data management, but in order to promote centralized management on the cloud for all businesses and locations, including globally, and to clarify actions toward optimal management and reduction, we have decided to introduce "booost Sustainability," which we developed and operate.

■ What can be achieved through implementation

  1. We centrally manage approximately 300 locations, including domestic and international subsidiaries and group companies, warehouses, and port facilities, enabling efficient, one-stop visualization, management, reduction, and reporting of all environmental data, including GHG emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3) and waste.
  2. Significant reduction in the effort required to aggregate environmental data.
  3. Implementing GHG emission reductions using analytical reporting functions

■ Reasons for adoption and future prospects

Katsuaki Takahashi, Head of Sustainability Promotion Office, Corporate Planning Department, Nisshin Co., Ltd.

Amid growing social concern over climate change, the demand for sustainability information disclosure is increasing year by year, requiring efficient data management and accelerated disclosure under appropriate conditions. By managing all environmental data, including GHG emissions, from our group's approximately 300 locations domestically and internationally on the cloud, we aimed to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the analysis of collected data, ultimately leading to concrete reductions in GHG emissions. To achieve this, we considered introducing new tools.

We chose "booost Sustainability" because, in addition to the functions we currently need, it also has a wealth of detailed functions that will be necessary as we further enhance our sustainability efforts in the future, and it also has future potential in terms of expansion.

Going forward, we will further work to promote efficient management at all our domestic and international locations using "booost Sustainability" in order to address one of the material issues our group has set forth: "Realizing a decarbonized society and contributing to an environmentally conscious circular economy."
